Carol Tom was born on the Lower East Side of Manhattan but lived in Queens for most of her life. She came to know the Lord at the age of sixteen and became fully involved in campus ministry while in college.

Prior to her current position as Children’s Minister, Carol directed the Pioneer Clubs children’s program for ten years. Carol has a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from Queens College, a Master in Higher Education Administration from Baruch College, and a Master in Professional Studies in Urban Studies from Alliance Theological Seminary.

As a child of immigrant parents, Carol can relate to the struggles faced by immigrant children and their families living in the Flushing community. It is her hope and desire to transform the lives of children and their families through the Gospel.

Carol is happily married to her husband Daryl; they have two adult daughters, Carissa and Alyson. Her favorite pastime is trying different foods, gardening, relaxing with a good book, and spending time with family and friends.
